image Phaneesh Murthy, the former CEO of iGate has filed a lawsuit against the Nasdaq-listed IT services company in a California court alleging that the company 'improperly’ used the reporting policy to terminate him despite being aware of his personal relationship with the subordinate employee.

In the lawsuit which has been filed at the superior Court of Alameda County in California, Murthy has alleged in the lawsuit the company ‘singled him out’ despite many other such relationships that prevailed within iGate then, and has withheld his vested stocks (worth around $17 million) and various other benefits.

The hackers stole 1.58 million website login credentials and 320,000 e-mail account credentials, among other items, the firm Trustwave reported. Included in the breaches were thefts of 318,121 passwords from Facebook, 59,549 from Yahoo, 54,437 from Google, 21,708 from Twitter and 8,490 from LinkedIn. image Washington: Federal employees were furloughed for a combined total of 6.6 million days during the 16-day partial federal government shutdown starting Oct 1, the most number in all government shutdowns of the country, the White House said Thursday.

The shutdown that occurred last month inflicted completely unnecessary damage on the US economy and took a toll on families and businesses across the country, reported Xinhua citing the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) in a report released Thursday.

image Washington: President Barack Obama has said that if Iran halts advances and reverses parts of its nuclear program, the United States would offer "modest relief" to ease the economic squeeze on Tehran.

image The Fitch credit rating agency has warned that it is reviewing the US government's AAA credit rating for a possible downgrade, citing the impasse in Washington that has raised the threat of a default on the nation's debt.
