image Washington, Jan. 8  : Researchers have suggested that the belief that e-cigarettes pose less health risk could lead to increased experimentation among young adults.

Investigators from the Division of Epidemiology and Community Health, University of Minnesota surveyed 1379 participants from the Minnesota Adolescent Community Cohort who had never used e-cigarettes.

The initial baseline survey explored their opinions about e-cigarettes and their effect on health relative to cigarettes or their usefulness as an aid to stop smoking. Then, a follow-up survey conducted one year later asked participants if they had experimented with e-cigarettes.

In the case of Generation Y, twenty-somethings bring new perspectives and habits to the workplace that add value to their employers, even though those strengths also carry inherent w

According to Stuff. co. nz, the custom of kissing underneath mistletoe began in the Victorian era when people believed it lead to marriage and promoted fertility.

Targeted medical intervention can help reduce specific negative memories in depressed patients, according to new research.

The technique, called electro-convulsive (ECT) or electro-shock therapy, induces seizures by passing current into the brain through electrode pads placed on the scalp.

Marijn Kroes, a neuroscientist at Radboud University Nijmegen in the Netherlands, discovered that by strategically timing ECT bursts, they could target and erase patients' memory of a disturbing phase in his or her life.

image CREATE OFFICE ZONES Every item in your home office should have a designated 'home' so it can be put back, instead of into a pile to be dealt with later. Use vertical space, cabinets and shelving to create zones for your files, office supplies, mail/bill-paying (envelopes, stamps, checkbook) and resources (books, research). An L-shaped desk will give you maximum space in your main work zone for computing and planning. image VEGETARIANS VERSUS CARNIVORES A surefire way to put a kink in your holiday party is to serve dishes that target only one group of eaters -- for instance, vegetarians or meat eaters. The best way to resolve the conflict? Don't get too fancy with what you make. Some vegetarians won't eat dishes prepared with milk or cheese. Similarly, some meat eaters don't like veggies mixed into their meat. So cook chicken or beef and make a few different side dishes both groups will love (baked potatoes or rice and individual plates of corn or beans). Consider "build-your-own" food items such as burritos. That way, guests can choose only the fillings (or toppings) they want.
