Govt. New Science College Bhawarkuwon The Govt. Nirbhaysingh Patel Vigyan Mahavidyalaya (formerly known as the Naveen Vigyan Mahavidyalaya) was established as a separate college within the Holkar Science College Campus on the 12th of July 1989 with a special purpose. As the Holkar Science College gained its autonomous status, a new problem came up especially for boys who could not qualify for its admission norms – there was no other govt. science college for boys in the city. Hence, the New Science College served as the solution and with an average admission of 450-480 students in the undergraduate B.Sc. courses it has been offering science education to the students who do not want to opt for the autonomous system. Moreover, it has a special significance for the categories of the SC,ST & OBC students, as well as for the underprivileged classes who can not afford the higher costs of the courses offered in the other science colleges. The college has grown to its present status through the efforts and capable management of former Principals like Dr. R.P. Singh, Dr. D. Roberts, Dr.S.P. Arya, Dr.K.K. Chaturvedi, Dr. M.D. Agrawal, Dr. A. Sharma, Smt. Savitri Verma, and Dr. S. Gautam, and has enjoyed the constant support of the staff and the facilities of the Holkar College. At present, though the college has an independent status with a separate administrative block,a separate library, as well as well -equipped science departments, it has to share the classrooms and laboratory rooms with the Holkar College.
